If diabetes feels overwhelming, you’re not alone

Whether you’ve just been told you have prediabetes, you’re newly diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, or you’ve been managing diabetes for years—getting clear nutrition guidance can change everything.

Most people don’t need more rules. They need:

  • a realistic plan for their schedule and food preferences

  • clarity on carbs, portions, and meal timing

  • confidence around restaurants, holidays, and treats

  • support that works with any prescribed medication—not against it

We can help with…

  • Prediabetes support

We help you build habits that can improve blood sugar trends and reduce the “what do I do now?” stress—without cutting out everything you enjoy.

  • Type 2 Diabetes support

We help you create a steady routine for meals, snacks, and activity so blood sugar management feels more predictable.

We are familiar with various medications (oral medications, GLP‑1s, insulin).

Our goal is to help you eat in a way that supports your treatment plan, your lifestyle, and your lab goals—while keeping food practical and satisfying.

Note: We provide nutrition counseling and do not prescribe or adjust medications.

  • Nutrition support for Type 1 Diabetes and Gestational Diabetes

Dietitian Jodi Serafin is a diabetes educator and sees clients that have Type 1 diabetes and Gestational Diabetes.

We help you create a steady routine for meals, snacks, and activity so blood sugar management feels more predictable.

We are familiar with various medications (oral medications, GLP‑1s, insulin).

Note: Dietitians provide nutrition counseling and are not able to prescribe medication.

FAQs

Can I still eat carbs like fruit, rice, potatoes, and pasta?
Yes—most people can include carbs. The key is portions, balance, timing, and choosing carbs that work well for you.

Do I have to give up treats?
No. We’ll help you plan treats in a way that supports your goals and reduces guilt and “all-or-nothing” thinking.

Will I need insulin?
That depends on your medical situation and is decided by your prescriber. We can help you understand nutrition strategies that support your overall diabetes plan.

Can you help if I’m on Ozempic / Wegovy / Mounjaro / Zepbound?

“I can’t thank Jodi enough for all that she’s done to help me to get where I need to be. I have been doing so much better with all the resources and notes from our sessions. It has been a major help! I didn’t think it was possible for me to reach my goals, but after every session we had I felt more confident and felt less stressed about making changes. And it’s all thanks to Jodi!”

“My dietitian taught me how to eat correctly. Her calm, relaxed demeanor is comforting. I was overeating and consuming too many carbs, among other things. I now have a more balanced diet with lower calorie intake and, most importantly, I do not miss all that bad, extra food. My health and feeling of well-being have improved so much that I'm inspired to exercise regularly and even enjoy it! I've lost 20 pounds and, in my 60s, my fitness and stamina are greater than they've been in many years.”
